A modular ecosystem for the classroom
Piztu isn’t just “another classroom system”: it’s a modular ecosystem that lets you manage a physical classroom, set up a virtual classroom, and create individualised learning material — all from the same pieces, combined as you need them. It works just as well in primary, secondary or university because it doesn’t impose a single classroom model — you decide how much you need.
Three ways to use it
Full mode — Piztu
Install the whole ecosystem: manage the physical classroom with Xesta (AI control via Ansible/Salt) and Pancho (equipment/user reports), and also set up a virtual classroom and create individualised material with Yang.
Virtual classroom mode — Tao + Yang
Install only Tao and Yang: a virtual classroom against a server (the teacher’s own, or even outside the network) plus the material editor. No physical hardware is managed here.
Editor only — Yang
Install only Yang to create assignments and exams, general or individualised, exporting to PDF, LaTeX or Markdown.
Creating material is easy. Distributing it isn’t — that’s why Tao exists
There are already plenty of tools for creating assignments and exams: with Yang you can ask the AI or build it manually, and generate as many versions as there are students if the assignment includes random values.
The really hard part is distributing that material and checking it was done properly. Moodle is rigid for this — it’s far from trivial, and tends to be a hassle. This is where Tao comes in: it hands out each assignment to each student individually, or creates a general assignment and personalises specific copies. It also:
- Has students generate a digitally-signed report of their work, to deter copy-pasting.
- Can require the assignment to be done inside the classroom, supervised by Piztu.
